Orage Masters

The Orage Masters finals got underway on the Blackcomb Higher Level Terrain park despite rough conditions the competition was still nothing short of impressive.




Team Volkl jibbing the log, before they went on to win the competition.


The Clouds did provide for some impressive views of the new Peak to Peak gondola





The Telus Conference Center is home to the State of the Art exhibition where local artists and action sport photographers are showing off their stuff. Live demonstrations of shoe and deck painting.

Big Air Invitational

Another great day at the Telus World Ski Snowboard Festival, the sun was shining all day long, tunes being played anywhere you went.
In the Village Square the Whistler Chef Challenge is going on yesterday and today with local Chefs going head to head in riveting competition.



On Blackcomb's High Level Terrain Park the Orage Masters training went on under the spring sun. The competition will be today.

As the sunlight faded the crowds gathered to watch the impressive Big Air Invitational

TWSSF 2009 Begins

Whistler's Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival kicked off today with a plethora of competitions events and shows. Throughout Whistler all sorts of athletes and artists are showing up to show off.

Friday's first competition was held underground in the parkade of the Telus Convention Center: Skate and Deploy



The Zune Concert Series was kicked off at the gondola plaza with Redeye Empire

Following Redeye Empire was the band Thornly from Ontario



As the sun began to dip lower in the sky the Big Air jump at the gondola plaza opened up for training. The real show goes on tomorrow night which promises to bigger and better than ever

Michael Franti and Spearhead

Another great show, but unfortunately this one finishes off the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival.. this didn't prevent anyone from singing and dancing with this great show though..








Well, that wraps up my small contribution to this ridiculously fun festival.. I had a blast and my friends and everyone that I talked to feel the same. I am already looking forward to next year, but for now it's back to school.. bah!
